VPN software is around everywhere as people get more and more paranoid about who’s reading what and why and when and they’d just rather shut the gate and throw away the key.
VPN software enables private communications over wireless/computer networks through a process known as “tunneling.” So when it comes to VPN software downloads there are opinions over the best and why. So let’s have a look at a few. Himachi Himachi is VPN software using a mediation server to establish peer to peer connections. The best part about Himachi is that it’s available online for a free download Open VPN Open VPN is a SSL based open sourced piece of software. Also available for free download it runs on the Linux, Mac OS X as well as Windows. Cisco VPN Client Cisco supports IPSec connections to Cisco VPN. The software runs on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. Tinc VPN Daemon Another free VPN software which enables VPN via low level network device configurations that acts in concert with daemon. Originally designed for Linux/Unix networks, the Tinc also works on Windows. Free S/WAN Another IPSec VPN software solution for Linux. Active development of Free S/WAN has ceased. Merely a historical relic. Free online software is also available from IP’s. Linksys offers VPN software; Netgear also does a pretty good job offering its own VPN software for clients. Symantec VPN client software is also available. Nortel also has VPN software. If you’ve made your own VPN you can also create your own VPN connection software. There are instructions online; just make sure you’re dealing with a reputable company. Many unscrupulous customers would rather nothing more than for you to imbed them into your security network through some arcane line of code that’s in an otherwise thumbs up VPN. Like so much else in this modern age, we seem to be all about as much as we can back up on our own. It’s not easy living in this world where we’ve got to be suspect of everyone and their underlying intentions of good or evil. It would seem to be of optimistic nature that everyone is for good and that all people’s in this world and on this earth act in an upwardly positive manner; not ever wanting anything but the best for you or others. It’d be nice to think that we’re all still the salts of the earth. Unfortunately for the majority, there is that slender minority who wants to see bad things happen for no good reason but their own demented pleasure. It happens here; it happens where you live; it happens all over. It’s important to remember to keep your head held high and hope for the best in the digital world and in the real one. |
