EarthLink DSL seems to be offering up a whole lot of stuff for not a lot of money. With DSL speed at 6.0Mbps, antivirus, firewall, spy ware, all free an a 24 hour call center where you can call with any complaints at prices that start at just over 12 bucks, it all seems too good to be true! So we put it to the test to see what’s really going on with EarthLink DSL service.
First of all this is all they do is DSL. There’s no phone, TV, juicer, fax, car alarm, meat slicer, coffee maker, broadband love train going on here. They also claim to have worked hard to be the best ISP by going above and beyond with protection against viruses, spam, spy ware, pop-ups, and other online predators. EarthLink broadband DSL also is the biggest and the best with more service in more places than most any other DSL provider. EarthLink also offers networking which lets you share this one connection with all your computers in your home. It also lets you share files, printers, and other things you may have linked to your EarthLink. EarthLink is a pretty decent ISP; with broadband wireless from EarthLink you’ve also got one other option of dial up when you’re away from your home CPU. Dial up hours are free to the tune of 20 hours a month which renews every billing cycle. EarthLink DSL and phone reviews have said about the same thing. EarthLink is a pretty legitimate company who offers a great niche service and has a pretty strong customer base. That’s what we’re trying to crack. That three or five percent. EarthLink is all about residential DSL; EarthLink doesn’t do broadband TV. If EarthLink had a promotion code it would be something really obvious like “DSL.” Filters at EarthLink have been way overworked and there is just no sign of stopping. If EarthLink were to start a broadband phone service that might actually be the worst thing in terms of time and place. But everything happens for a reason; we’re just waiting here by the phone for the answers we’ve all been looking for. |
