Bellsouth DSL has four different levels of DSL connection speeds at four different price points. DSL is all about two things; Cost and Speed so let’s have a look at the four options from Bellsouth and see what’s happening.
DSL Lite: the cheapest level of connection for DSL service with Bellsouth is called “Fastaccess” and is their DSL name and Lite is the flavor of DSL this one comes equipped with. With speeds up to five times as fast as dial up and a very reasonable price, Lite blend is for folks new to the DSL addiction DSL Ultra: Jumping up to a whopping 25xdial up speed, DSL Ultra is the real deal. Checking in at just a couple dollars more than the Lite, this is an upgrade worth considering if you find yourself online as most of us do, way too much. DSL Xtreme: Doubling the Ultra with speeds at 50 x dial up, DSL Xtreme means quicker downloads of larger file types with less chance of interruption. DSL Xtreme 6.0: Doubling that of its nearest competitor, four times the speed of Ultra, and a mind boggling 20 x the speed of DSL Lite, 6.0 is for the serious DSL customer. Also coming equipped with the biggest price tag, the 6.0 is the Grand Puba of Internet connections from BellSouth. When you get any of these services there are also special deals that BellSouth is looking to cut at present. Among these is a free modem when you sign up online. They are also offering $100.00 cash back or a free in-home session with Geek Squad computer service ($249.00 value) If you’re thinking of defecting to BellSouth from Cable they’re offering an extra $125.00 bounty for your loyalty. BellSouth is bringing Internet to where they maybe had more difficulty getting something like DSL service prior. But as the popularity of DSL spreads and more people become infected with the bug it gets tougher to shake. For folks in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee these are the states currently serviced by BellSouth and where the high speed Internet is being offered. Like everything it will be at first with baby steps that this new service takes hold. Eventually though everyone will have DSL and we’ll all hearken back to the day before broadband internet service, speed tests, fast access DSL, and modem setup. Until that day we’ll keep moving ever forward in a positive direction as we all try and unite behind the force that guides us. |
